What can your
counselors do for you?
The
guidance counselors at Palm Springs Middle
School are here to help parents and students
enjoy a successful school year. We will help
students with their academic concerns
(schedule changes, advanced classes, electives,
organization, careers, study skills, tutoring,
etc…) and social/emotional concerns
(bullying, problem-solving, making decisions,
helping you communicate more effectively, and
overcoming fears).

How can you speak
to a counselor?
A
student may request to see his/her counselor
by asking his/her teacher for a pass to the
guidance office. If the counselor is not
available, the student should complete a
Counselor Request Form and the counselor
will call them to the office as soon as they are
available. The student may also email
the counselor with a question or concern. If a
student has an emergency, he/she will always be
able to see a counselor.
A parent may also
request to speak to their child’s counselor by
contacting the school. The counselor will also
assist parents with meeting an individual
teacher or the team of teachers on their child’s
schedule. Parents should work with the school
counselor to identify resources and find
solutions to problems. |
